According to the Ministry of Regional Development of Georgia, movement on the Georgian Military Highway towards the border with Russia and the Upper Lars checkpoint is banned for cars with trailers and semi-trailers for an indefinite term.
All other types of transport traffic on Mtskheta-Stepantsminda-Lars is allowed, with two exceptions: it is forbidden to stop at the Kobi-Gudauri and Mletta-Gudauri sections, Sputnik-Georgia reports.
Drivers are advised to use avalanche-protecting tunnels. The police patrols are monitoring compliance with the restrictions.
